Region 4 Fox Trot Fall Festival

hosted by the Kansas City Regional Fox Trotting Horse Association and the St. Louis Regional Fox Trotters.

Featuring Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Performance and Open Gaited Breed Model and Versatility Classes

Entry Fee: $15 (includes DQP fee)
Horses must enter preliminary and OGB classes prior to the start of the show

Admission FREE

Stalls:  $35
All horses MUST have a stall.  Includes Friday and Saturday night plus 1 bag of shavings. Horses may begin arriving September 28 at 1 p.m. and must depart on September 30 by 1 p.m.  Stall reservation forms are available on the Forms page.  Please make your reservation by September 20. 

Each stall will come with one bag of shavings.  Official shavings policy will be posted for 2018 once it is received from the Missouri State Fairgrounds.


Classes Prior To Break
Top 5 Placed, $75 payback
1-$25, 2-$20, 3-$15, 4-$10, 5-$5
Championship Classes and Hi-Point Competitions:
Top 5 Placed, $225 payback
1-$75, 2-$60, 3-$45, 4-$30, 5-$15

Trainers Hi Point

All Missouri Fox Trotting Horses will earn points for the trainer.  Trainer must be listed on entry form.  horse must currently be in training with the trainer. Training means that the trainer is currently being compensated to ride the horse in preparation for the show and that the horse has been under the care of the trainer during this time. Trainer must be present at the show to be eligible.

Arena Hours:

Coliseum (Main Arena)
Friday September 28:  Open 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday September 29:  6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
**Arena will be dragged Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. and during the break**
MFA Arena (DQP Arena)
Friday September 28:  Open 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday September 29:  6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Show Office Hours

Friday September 28: 2 to 8 p.m.
Saturday September 29: Opens at 7 a.m.

Horse Arrival

The Missouri State Fairgrounds will close its gates promptly at 9 p.m. on Friday September 28.  This will remove access directly to the stall barns.  If you plan to arrive on Friday, please do so prior to 9 p.m.  Access to the campground will remain open.

Gates open at 6 a.m. on Saturday September 29.


Missouri State Fair Campground:  $20 per day for electric/water/sewer, available on first come, first serve basis



Showmanship and Horsemanship Patterns


Open gaited breed competitors should do their optional gait where the fox trot is indicated in the pattern.
